Annotation
It is substantiated that the decisive factor ensuring the effective use of investment resources and other factors of production is the innovative development of the economy. To analyze the level of innovation development of the economy of the Republic of Tajikistan, methodological approaches were used related to the use of the following methods for analyzing the country’s economy: a positive analysis of economic dynamics, a normative analysis and an inter-new comparative analysis. The paper assesses a set of indicators that characterize the innovative development of the economy: the global innovation index, the indices of the development of human capital and physical capital, the development of the digital economy. It is proved that, by technological level, the economy of the Republic of Tajikistan is in the first, initial stages of innovation development. It justifies the conclusion that it is important to increase the import of machinery and equipment per capita. The increase in fixed capital and the import of machinery and equipment should be a priority in the investment policy of the Republic of Tajikistan in the long term.
