STRATEGIC ANALYSIS OF THE CURRENT STATE OF THE REGIONAL ECONOMY AS AN IMPORTANT STAGE OF INVESTMENT DEVELOPMENT

Annotation

 

 The article presents the strategic analysis of regional industry functioning on the basis of SWOT and EFAS analysis methods, as well as the portfolio analysis as the most important elements of the strategic plan of investment development of the regional economy. Scientific novelty of the research consists in substantiation of application of portfolio analysis method at the level of branches of regional economy. On the basis of the portfolio analysis priority branches of industry of Sughd Region of the Republic of Tajikistan were identified. It is proved that the most attractive branches of industry in the region in terms of investment are metallurgical production, production of food products, including beverages and tobacco, production of rubber and plastic products. The investment situation of industry in Sughd region is assessed as below average. This situation is caused by the fact that the criteria of priority branches of industry meet only 5 of 17. The acting strategic documents of the republic are considered from the point of view of dynamic development of the branches of industry in the region. At the level of the region the acting programs of development are made on the basis of the National strategy of development of the RT, with the period of validity not more than 5 years.
