The article uses the above method to develop a computer model, which serves to study the starting transients of asynchronous electric drive of a pumping unit. Computer modeling has become one of the main and effective research methods among scientists around the world. The advantages of this method can include extensive tools to investigate scientific issues and problems without the expense of research facilities. The essence of the method is the simulation of various processes of some system in a computer program. As a result, research results are obtained with little time and sufficient accuracy. The main elements of research in this system are asynchronous electric motor with short-circuited rotor and pumping unit for water pumping. The results of modeling are processed by visualization tools and presented in the transient plots of the main parameters of the asynchronous electric drive. The novelty of the work lies in the development of a computer model created in the MATLAB system, which has the ability to perform various experiments. The results of computer modeling showed the performance of the model, the reliability and accuracy of the obtained values of the electric drive parameters, which, in turn, coincide with the passport and design parameters of the electri –drive.
