Annotation
The article investigates the main directions and features of foreign trade relations between the Republic of Tajikistan and the Russian Federation. In particular, the article provides a detailed analysis of the dynamics of foreign trade volumes between the Republic of Tajikistan and the Russian Federation and studies changes in its commodity structure.
The issues of rationality and efficiency of foreign trade relations between the countries are considered. It has been proved that although in general the volume of foreign trade turnover of the country has significantly increased; its structure does not correspond to the long-term prospects of economic growth and increase of efficiency of economy functioning. This structure is not only an expression of the predominantly raw material nature of the economy, but also indirectly indicates that the industries and enterprises producing final products on foreign markets are uncompetitive. As a result, the established structure of foreign trade makes Tajikistan more dependent on the changes of goods and their prices at the world markets. Based on the conducted analysis, the role and place of foreign trade relations with the Russian Federation in the social and economic development of the Republic of Tajikistan is determined. The results of the research can be used in the processes of developing the rating of foreign trade relations of the country, conducting foreign economic policy and state regulation of foreign trade.
