Annotation
This article examines the theoretical foundations and practical aspects of forming and development the innovation potential of industrial enterprises. The authors note the importance of studying this issue for the development of innovation and competitiveness of en-terprises. It is noted that in the economic literature there are many works of foreign and domes-tic authors that reveal the significance of studying this phenomenon. However, the stages of forming and development the innovation potential and methods for assessing it have not yet been sufficiently studied. This is explained by the fact that the level of development of innova-tion activity in all post-Soviet countries is insufficiently high. The purpose of the article is to highlight the stages of formation and methods for assessing innovation potential at an industrial enterprise. The innovation potential of an industrial enterprise is defined as a set of various re-sources and competencies for carrying out innovation activities. Three main components of the potential are distinguished: resource, internal and effective. The components of the resource component are examined in detail: material, technical, informational, financial, human re-sources. Their role and relationship in the formation of innovation potential is analyzed. The authors identified and proposed stages of forming innovation potential within the framework of implementing an innovation project at an industrial enterprise. A block diagram of the process of capacity building is given.
