Abstract

This work describes and presents a cooling system for power transformers using useful heat removal. Modern cooling systems for power transformers using an electrical heat removal circuit are considered. An example of a system that allows the use of thermal transformers to heat substations and provide hot water supply to nearby consumers is given and analyzed. The operating principle of such a scheme, including cold water supply systems, heat exchangers, pumps and pipelines, is described. A detailed description of the heat extraction scheme using a heat exchanger in summer and heat pumps in winter is given. The authors note that the implementation of such technical solutions for recycling heat from power transformers increases the technical and economic indicators of their operation and can significantly reduce the costs of energy companies for heating and hot water supply to substations. It is shown that the proposed scheme makes it possible to organize a centralized heat supply system for substations and other close consumers. It is concluded that the development of transformer cooling systems with the ability to remove heat can increase the power indicators of each individual transformer and the efficiency of substations, as well as reduce the cost of heating and water supply for a number of consumers. This will lead to increased energy efficiency and costeffective operation of transformer equipment.
