Annotation

 

  The article discusses the current state, main tasks and perspective directions for the development of the electric power industry in Tajikistan. These aspects of the electric power industry are of great scientific and practical importance for the socio-economic development of Tajikistan. In the conditions of independence, the energy potential of the Central Asian countries has become a subject of close attention and competition for influence from such world powers as the China, the USA, the European Union and others. Under these conditions, it is extremely important for the countries of the region to correctly determine the strategy for the efficient use and conservation of energy resources in the long term. The article provides a description of the current state of the electric power system of Tajikistan. Separately, the resources and the state of the use of renewable energy sources are described. The characteristics and parameters of backbone and distribution electrical networks, the modern structure of electricity consumption are given. The distinctive features of the electric power industry from other sectors of the economy are indicated. The main tasks in the electric power industry of Tajikistan that require urgent solutions and perspective directions for the development of the electric power industry in Tajikistan are identified. In conclusion, it was noted that the solution of the tasks set for the country’s electric power industry and the implementation of promising areas of development will allow Tajikistan to achieve the goals of the National Development Strategy, strengthen the economy and improve the welfare of the population based on sustainable economic development.
