Abstract

The paper studies the problem of evaluating the efficiency of switching devices: circuit breakers, contactors, magnetic starters used in the systems of in-house power supply. The main technical characteristics of switching devices of domestic and foreign manufacturers were analyzed, mathematical models of active power losses in the studied devices from the current flowing through them were developed. The result of researches are approximating functions of the value of losses of active power and contact resistances from the basic parameters of the investigated devices. Determination coefficient R2 and average approximation error are calculated. Theoretical and experimental researches show that taking into account power losses in contact connections of low-voltage switching devices allows to specify the value of power losses in systems of in-plant power supply. Mathematical models and analytical dependences allow to reveal effective in operation types of low-voltage devices and rationally implement energy-saving measures in the systems of in-plant power supply. This information can be recommended for use to clarify the calculations on the assessment of power losses in lowvoltage electrical networks of 0.4 kV and above
