CIENTIFIC SUBSTANTIATION OF DIRECTIONS FOR INCREASING THE EFFICIENCY OF THE REGIONAL ELECTRIC POWER SYSTEM
Authors
Abstract
Based on the assessment of the regional electric power system efficiency, the directions of improvement of its main indicator - electric intensity of the national and regional economy - are substantiated. It was defined that in order to achieve the strategic goal of sustainable economic development and modern energy policy, the development of directions for increasing the efficiency of the electric power system is one of the key tools for ensuring national energy security, economic and social well-being of the region, and its competitiveness. It is analyzed that the consumption of electricity capacity of the economy of Tajikistan is 4.8 kWh / 1000 US dollars of gross domestic product, which is higher than in many developed countries, and indicates a low efficiency of the electric power system. At the same time, in the Sughd region, the ratio between the volumes of consumption and production of electricity is relatively favorable. It is substantiated that the main reasons for this situation are high technical and commercial losses, the use of outdated equipment with high energy consumption, as well as the lack of an energy saving culture. The study determined that, on the one hand, it is important to introduce energy- saving technologies, develop energy infrastructure and increase energy literacy of the population, and on the other hand, it is necessary to develop relatively low-cost ways to increase the dynamics of sustainable economic growth.
