INFORMATION SYSTEM OF HEU DIGITAL LIBRARY

The process of developing and implementing a digital library for a universi-
ty is considered. A comparative analysis of information resources available on the Internet has
been carried out. Information support for the digital library is implemented based on a data-
base model – the MySQL database management system. In the database, a base of interrelated
table logic systems has been created. The logical structure of the digital library is presented in
the form of a web application. It is noted that the electronic library allows university staff and
students to work remotely via the Internet, which ensures prompt interaction of users with in-
formation resources. With the help of the digital library, students can order the necessary
books, and library staff can immediately fulfill these orders. The digital library database is in-
tended for storing and processing data of both printed and electronic books. The developed dig-
ital library is aimed at automating the work process of university libraries, which leads to the
immediate satisfaction of readers' needs for books and information resources. Teachers and
students of universities can have free and unlimited access to all information resources of the
library fund with the help of the digital library.
