IMPACT OF SUDDEN SHOCK ON THE SMALL OPEN ECONOMY OF THE REPUBLIC OF TAJIKISTAN (on the example of covid-19)

Annotation

 

The article analyzes the peculiarities of the negative impact of sudden external shocks, such as the COVID-19 pandemic. Also the main directions of the national economy, which directly involves the country in international relations, i.e. in the world market, through which the national economy experiences external influences, including: in the sphere of external migration, in foreign trade and in banking and investment, were analyzed and preventive measures were proposed. The article substantiates the following proposals to prevent the sudden consequences of the COVID-19 pandemic in order to ensure the economic security of the small open economy of the country: providing returning migrants with jobs; increasing the production of agricultural products such as wheat and other food products, which can reduce the country’s dependence on food imports; intensifying work and attracting specialists in the field of agriculture. The results of the study can be used in the process of improving the action plan of the Government of the Republic of Tajikistan to prevent the impact of potential risks on the national economy.
