Annotation

The article presents the causes of climate change and the impact on econom-ically important areas of development in Tajikistan and in the countries of Central Asia, in par-ticular in Kyrgyzstan, and argues for the special role of water resources in the energy security of Central Asia. The issues of climate change in terms of the impact of high temperatures on water resources and their consequences such as strong evaporation and a decrease in the amount of water, as well as an increase in the volume of water consumed in all spheres of life of the population of Central Asia are considered. It is noted that any changes affecting the water resources of Central Asia have a high multiplier effect on various socio-economic aspects of the development of the countries of the region. It has been established that the shortage of water resources in Central Asia is considered as one of the main limiting factors in the development of the countries of the region. The consequences of the expected growth in water consumption in modern conditions and in the future as an increase in competition for water at the regional and local levels between irrigation and energy, other sectors of the economy are given. The article suggests that in the context of climate change and the impending shortage of water resources, the emphasis should be placed on the effective management of available water resources, water demand management, water saving, teaching water users innovative methods of using water as the main ways to solve problems in the energy sector of Tajikistan and the development of hy-dropower. complex.
