Abstract

This article discusses the ratio of integration processes in the economy with
the process of unification and harmonization of legal norms in the legislation of these states.
Attention is drawn to the legal basis of the interaction and cooperation of states in the global
economic community by creating various international organizations with the participation of
sovereign states. More attention is paid to the issue of the influence of the proper use of the
methods of unification, implementation and harmonization of legislation on the effectiveness of
the integration process. At the same time, as an example, along with the classical forms of
manifestation of international cooperation (European Union, CIS), the relative new
manifestation of the interaction of states is the Shanghai organization of cooperation. The
distinctive features of economic integration within the framework of the EEC can be found in
various sources. In this regard, we intend in this article to consider the correlation of
integration processes in the economy with the process of unification and harmonization of legal
norms in the legislation of these states. As a classic example, we decided to consider the
relationship between the countries of the European Union, which during the half-century
history of its existence have passed various stages to their improvement. Then we will proceed
to the study of the experience of the member countries of the relatively young commonwealth –
the Commonwealth of Independent States (CIS) in the process of unification and harmonization
of their legislation, generalization and conclusions on which can be applied when creating
and/or joining other international communities.
