INVESTMENT IN FIXED CAPITAL AS A FACTOR OF ECONOMIC GROWTH: ANALYSED USING THE COBB-DOUGLAS MODEL AND MULTIVARIATE REGRESSION

The article studies the impact of investment in fixed capital on economic growth using Cobb-Douglas and multivariate regression models. The study is relevant due to the fact that fixed capital investment is a key driver of long-term economic growth, and its role in the modern economy requires in-depth analysis. The article analyses the relationship between investment in fixed capital and GDP. The Cobb-Douglas model is applied, which allows estimating the contribution of capital and labour inputs to production, as well as identifying the degree of diminishing returns to capital. Further, using multivariate regression, a more detailed study is conducted, taking into account the influence of individual sources of investment in fixed capital and other qualitative factors, including institutional factors. This makes it possible to identify not only direct but also indirect links between fixed capital investment and economic growth, as well as to assess the relative importance of different factors. This study is a relevant and practical contribution to the understanding of the relationship between fixed capital investment and economic growth. The article concludes with conclusions on the role of fixed capital investment in the process of economic growth, and for mulates recommendations to stimulate investment activity and achieve sustainable economic growth.
